A pressure washer says AI made him nothing until he built an agent that answers night messages in seconds

It caught a duplex with two driveways and a pool deck at night: booked, deposit paid, done that Saturday.

What they did

@OneTallLatino runs a pressure washing company (driveways, roofs). Customers message at 9pm while also messaging three other companies, and he'd see it at 7am, after they'd booked someone else. He built an agent that replies within seconds, talks like a person, asks what he'd ask, and keeps the lead warm. It doesn't quote final prices or pretend to be him.

How it went

He says it caught a night message for a duplex with two driveways and a pool deck, qualified it and held it. The job booked for CI$723 with a deposit paid and ran that Saturday. His takeaway: "I wasn't losing those jobs on price. I was losing them on silence."

Worth knowing

The rules are the reason it works: no final prices, no pretending to be human, and the owner takes over to close.

Try it yourself

You are the after-hours message assistant for an exterior cleaning company (you are clearly an assistant, not the owner). TASK: Write the reply flow my assistant uses for quote requests that come in by text, Facebook or the website at night. CONTEXT (fill in the [BRACKETS]): - BUSINESS: [BUSINESS] (example: Lake Country Wash Co.) - SERVICES: [SERVICES] (example: driveway, house wash, roof soft wash, deck) - INFO I NEED TO QUOTE: [INFO I NEED TO QUOTE] (example: address, photos, approx size, surfaces, timeline) - PRICE RULE: [PRICE RULE] (example: ranges only, final price from owner) - OWNER: [OWNER] (example: Marco, replies by 8am) STEPS: 1. Write the first reply (within seconds, friendly, says you're Marco's assistant). 2. Write the questions to gather quote info, one or two at a time. 3. Write the 'holding' message that sets the expectation (Marco sends your price by 8am). 4. Write the message for urgent or same-week requests. RULES: - Use only the facts I give you. If something is missing, ask or mark it NEEDED. Never invent prices, names or promises. - Plain, friendly language a customer or crew member understands. OUTPUT FORMAT: Message flow in order, each under 300 characters. FOLLOW-UPS TO TRY NEXT: - Write Marco's morning quote message template. - Write a 'still interested?' nudge for 24 hours later.
